Teachers Gifts

Unbelievably it is that time of year when my boys have finished school for the summer holidays. Here in Ireland they finish 3 weeks earlier than the UK, I’m hoping with all my might that the weather significantly improves, the summer will seem so very long if not.
It is also a signifcant summer this year, because my youngest will start school proper in September, and join his brother in the same school.
I have been busy making little gifts for the teachers as thank yous for their support over the last year. It has been our lest year as a family to say the least and The support they have all offered and been very much appreciated. Children are so influenced by their time at school and I find it a great shame for them to leave a great teacher…..
Here is what I have been making. I have combined a notebook attached with ribbon to the front of the card, and a tear-off bookmark.

The bookmarks on the first two were designed by Stephen, all colour choices and placement of embellishments his choice. He was adament his teacher Jacquie should have googly eyes on her bookmark. Also the background on the books and book marks were created by Stephen using alcohol inks…..he is an expert at dabbing away and always chooses perfect colour combinations.

I made the notebooks from scratch, cutting the pages, the cover boards and backing paper for the covers, using the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge. They were then bound using the Bind-it-all machine.  All the papers are from the Poppy Seeds collection by K & Co Designer & Speciality papers, and love the bright freshness of them.

I have had the Bind-it-all for a fair few years now and make good use of it. I have in the past made lots of little books for mum, they are ideal for shopping lists and sit quite nicely in the handbag.

Thank you so much for look and for any comments that you may like to leave.
