New Challenge……Just one type of Embellishment

Hello there and welcome back to my blog, and hello to my new followers that have joined in the last few weeks, I hope you will enjoy the crafty creations that I am able to show you.
I have also simplified my blog address now, to www.creativemakings.co.uk
As I’m sitting here writing I am hoping that my internet connection stays long enough for me to finish, and that we don’t have a power cut. There is one massive storm going on outside (and blowing in through the letterbox!!) and the winds are gale force (again) and giving our poor new planted trees a real battering.
I am excited and nervous sharing this post with you today, as it is my turn to host (for the very first time…eeeeeeek) the February Challenge over at the newly revamped and new www.sarahhurley365.blogspot.co.uk/

We would love for you to come over and visit, not only do we run a monthly challenge (with a lovely little incentive for you enter) but we also have daily doses of inspiration from my wonderfully talented team members, from whom I am still learning a great deal.
I have chosen Sarah’s butterfly stamp set, and used them all in my card, displaying a number of techniques.
Before inking the background card with stamping inks, I clear embossed some of the smaller butterflies and one of the sentiments. That meant that when I swirled the paper through the ink (from a craft mat) these areas resisted the ink and remained white. You can see from the photos below that they also retained their gloss from the clear embossing powder. The larger butterflies are stamped with the co-ordinating inks, cut out and then decoupaged over self adhesive canvas.
I also stamped the smaller (solid) butterflies, cut them out them glittered them with a fabulous new glitter pen I treated myself to at christmas. I don’t know if you have seen them – they are made by kuretake and come in a water brush type format – I think they are call the ‘Wink of Stella’ pens and honestly they are the best glitter I have ever used.

I hope you can join us this month, as it is almost Valentines, the challenge will be perfect for all those heart themed cards.
I hope that you like what I have created, and that you stay safe and dry over the coming days.

Thanks for visiting.
