Mother’s Day with Creative Expressions

Good Morning, it’s Friday, and time to share with you my post for Creative Expressions.

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day in the UK (and Ireland), and this year I was able to spend it with my Mum and hand to her,her card in person. I have a lot to thank both my Mum & Dad for this year, and we had a fabulous weekend. Saturday we were able to spend out walking in the beautiful surroundings of Killarney National Park (well wrapped up against the cold) and picnic-ing on hot dogs and coffee, warmed up on a camping stove from the back of the car.

Sunday we relaxed and treated ourselves to a Sunday roast out at our favourite eatery just down the road from us.

Mum’s favourite colour (certainly at the moment) is lemon, and being a crafter herself, she has been excited to get herself a set of Sue Wilsons Double Pierced Squares Noble Dies, so I based this card around those two things.

To Make

Using Phill Martins Sentimentally Yours Paper Insert pad (Graceful Butterflies & Dragonflies) and the Double Pierced Square Dies, I created three nesting layers, accentuating each with a contrasting pierced border. Using just one 8×8 in sheet, means the pattern can remain intact across all layers (I must admit however I forgot to align the outer layer!).

I masked around the central insert panel, and stamped John Lockwood’s Stitched Heart Background Stamp using Cosmic Shimmer, Chic Moss Colour Cloud Ink.

Using the smallest of the Pierced Square Dies, I created the sentiment panel by stamping the Heart Background again, and of the Petite lavish Sentiments (an A5 Clear Stamp Set).

The card was embellished with Sue Wilson’s Dandelion Clocks Craft Dies, and some Mini Pearl Swirls.
