Feathers …

I have a birthday card to share with you today. I was looking forward to sitting and playing with my newest stamps, inks and something that I have been after for years now, and that is white embossing powder.
It is Dad’s birthday in May, giving me the perfect opportunity to use the feather stamps from Stampin Up, and team them with some little vintage style camera stamps from Sarah Hurley. Both elements suit Dad down to the ground, and sum up is hobbies and interests in one, as you will see if you fancy popping over to his photo gallery here.
Card Recipe
8×8 Craftwork Cardblank
Stamps – Stampin Up Fine Feathers; Stampin Up Hardwood stamp;
Sarah Hurley mini vintage camera’s; Sarah Hurley Block Alpha stamps.
Inks – Stampin Up Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit.
The coloured pennants you see layered, started off as white paper, that I have inked and then embossed with the grand caliber. I have used 3  Stampin Up inks in total, to colour tint the paper and also to stamp the images, to give a simple and consistent colour theme to the whole card. I love the pop of the yellow against my favourite neutrals, just to lift the whole piece.

I thought I would also share with you the picture that my youngest son painted also. Like his older brother, when he crafts he has a clear idea of what he will create, and achieves it in no time at all, always with fabulous results. I think I could perhaps learn something from that, considering how long it takes me make up my mind choosing embellishments….backing papers…..colours etc LOL!
I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared with you today, thanks for stopping by.
