Hello!

Friday again, can you believe the weekend is almost here again?

I have been looking forward to sharing my card with you today. I have used the brand  new stamp releases by Creative Expressions designer John Lockwood. John has designer gorgeous clear stamp sets called Snowdrop Elements, depicting the delicate flower plus a pretty frame and universal greetings, enabling you to complete your own project.

Creative Expressions, John Lockwood clear Stamp Set – Snowdrop Elements

John Lockwoods Blog

I have created the card using Taupe and Milk foundation cardstock (Creative Expressions), because I wanted the white of the Snowdrop flower to stamp out. Where I lived in West Wales, we had snowdrops growing at the bottom of the garden in the wooded area that run alongside out stream. They are beautiful delicate flowers, I love their  pure burst of white during the greyest time of year.

I will talk you through how I created the card.

Step 1- Create a 15 x 15 cm card blank from Creative Expressions Taupe foundation card. Cut a 13cm square from Milk foundation cardstock and round the top right corner with a shaped punch. Stamp the Snowdrop flowers in the bottom left corner. I stamped with a very dark green ink and coloured the image with alcohol markers. Mat and layer the stamped layer first onto Taupe card then onto Milk cardstock before attaching to the front of the card blank.

Step 2- Die cut the middle sized Pierced Tag (Creative Expressions, Craft Dies by Sue Wilson), mask the pierced holes with a low tack masking/washi tape, and position the same Snowdrop stamp over the tag so that the first & second flower heads are stamped. Again use a dark green ink, and colour the stalks with alcohol markers. I then used a white watercolour crayon to colour  the flower heads, ensuring the white really stands out against the Taupe card.

Step 3- Once the tag has been coloured, fix it to the corresponding position over the full stamped image on the card base. The image is still complete, but the two blooms at the centre of the image are framed with the tag. Choose a sentiment to stamp to the right of the image, and accentuate the white of the flowers by adding a simple pure white ribbon bow. Finish the card by highlighting the top of the two flowers with subtle green flat backed gems.
