Create a Tag with IndigoBlu Stamps – Using a Xmas Stamp as a time piece

Good Morning!

Today we are launching a new challenge at the IndigoBlu Challenge blog, and boy isn’t the theme appropriate – Time Flies

To be completely honest, this challenge crept up on me and caught me unawares and I had lost track of how quick October was passing by – and now christmas has started to appear all over the place!!

Talking of which, would you have guessed that I have used a christmas stamp, to make this tag?…….. I have actually created the time piece using the IndigoBlu Snowflake Bauble, and I have fussy cut two decorative pen images from the Fontastic Ephemera cardstack to use as hands.

I have created this tag using a xmas stamp as a timepiece. Try looking at your christmas stamps and see if you can use them throughout the year, it seems a shame for them to be stuck away for all those months unused.

IB Time Flies Tag

How to make

  1. Cut a piece of Grunge board (by Tim Holtz, Ranger) into a tag shape, and paint a layer of gesso on one side.
  2. Once dry colour with Distress Sprays in tea dye, wild honey, antique linen & victorian velvet. Take a paper towel to dab off the excess, allow to dry completely.
  3. Take a piece of white stamping card, colour with Victorian Velvet Distress Spray, and when dry stamp the IndigoBku Snowflake Bauble using victorian velvet distress ink. Cut out and ink those edges with walnut stain distress ink.
  4. From the Fontastic Ephemera mixed Media cardstack, cut two decorative pens to use at clock hands. Secure to the snowflake bauble with a ‘small dab’ of glossy accents. Add small gems/pearls to mark out the numbers of the clock face. Set aside to dry completely.
  5. Going back to the tag, layer ephemera papers to the bottom third of the tag, and balance that by adding a small strip to the top of the tag. Take a small decorative stamp mine from the IndigoBlu Poppycock stamp set, and stamp 5-7 times using walnut stain distress ink.
  6. Attach you ‘clock face’ to the tag, just off centre, using silicone glue gel (or 3D foam pads).
  7. Add layers of lace, hessian strips and a natural twine bow, and complete the look by stamping and cutting out a feature word (i used Vintage from IndigoBlu’s Sarah Choice stamps).
