This week I have for you, a video tutorial guide to creating perfect Autumn pumpkin scenes using distress oxide inks both in the background and to stamp with.
I don’t usually go with the full blown Halloween theme, but I am inspired by the autumnal and seasonal colours so incorporating pumpkins into this natural scene was an easy choice. I have made this piece onto an 8×8 inch card blank purely because I find it an easy and convenient canvas to make and store….this design however (and all my designs) can so easily be made onto a mount board or canvas and popped into a frame as a piece of seasonal home decor.
I have used stamps by Imagine Design Create, and I love this silhouette tree (Family Tree stamp). I havn’t stamped it in full, by using the technique where you stamp off the page you are drawing the eye to the image even more (in my view anyway LOL!) I feel that the composition of the scene is much more balanced, allowing you to add other items and giving you a sense of depth.
I have gone into a bit more detail of my thought process during the video, and show you how easy it is to create teh atmospheric background by blending inks.Have a watch and then perhaps have a go yourself….i’d love to see your take on this project.
