Altered Pen Box

Good Morning, being Monday it is time to introduce a new challenge at Artistic Inspirations

Floppy Latte, our sponsor, is offering a shop voucher to the winner of our

ANYTHING BUT A CARD
challenge

I have used an image from Floppy Latte, printed it onto a piece of acetate and attached it to the lid of this box that I have altered.

The box began life as a simple plain wood box, purchased for 2.99 euros from one of the Chinese pound shops in Almerimar, Spain. Mum & Dad live here, and Mum frequently scours these shops for such little gems. These shops are a favourite haunt for my husband and sons on holiday too- but I have to admit this was a super little buy.

I used Distress stains to colour the box, before taking some of my favourite stamps and distress inks, to decorate it further.

The lightness of the wood meant it took the ink really well and the stamped images and element retained their clarity, and the whole project came together really quickly.

I am really chuffed with the outcome, and I have already found a use for this box on my desk,to house my special pens. I have a soft spot for a lovely elegant pen,and over the years my sister and husband have bought me some as presents. I will line the box with either felt or velvet before it houses them.

I look forward to seeing your creations over at the challenge blog.
Thank you for taking the time to pass by.
