Challenge 91 – Stitches (Real or Faux)
Ria has set the challenge for us over our newly redesigned and sleek blog Sarah Hurley 365.
We would like you to include any form of stitching on your project, and as a little inspiration for you, I decided to get out my sewing machine (to sew the blue binding tape), and also my needle & thread.
I sewed the birdcage, leaf design and doily all onto the backing blue felt. The as a little of fun I stamped and embossed the cute little birds (from our very own Jaines’ special edition stamp set, ‘Tweet Tweet’) and hand sewed with coloured thread around their outline (hopefully you can see this from the close up photo below). It is a fabulous and different way to embellish and use your stamps.
Both the bird cage and the birds were stamped and embossed with a moonshine embossing powder that I have had for years and it made a refreshing change to root through my supplies and use something different. The leaf stamps were an exclusive stamp from Sarah A Few of My Favourite Things kit back in October 2013.
