Serene Sunrise……

Good afternoon all, its time for a new

Its time to dig out those pots of embossing powders, pigment/versamark inks and heat guns – we what to see ‘traditional WET EMBOSSING’ on your creations.

I am really pleased with the softness of the colours yet still maintaining the image as  the focal point of the card.

Card Recipe
Cardstock – 8×8″ craftwork card blank
– Dark/LightGrey cardstock
Light blue cardstock
Gunmetal mirri card
Digi Image – Stamp-n-Doodle image Lake of the Woods (click here to view)

Method
  1. Alter the digi image to square dimensions (here 12 x 12cm) and convert to grey tones so that the image can be coloured with a medium of your choice. I coloured ith very pale promarkers.
  2. Cover the whole coloured image with versamark ink and sprinkle with embossing powder of your choice (I used an opalescent powder that gives the cloudy opalescent effect instead of the glass effect that clear powder gives) and heat.
  3. Trim the image to square proportions and then cut into equal sized tiles. My image measured 12x12cm, and then cut into 9 tiles measuring 4x4cm.
  4. Mat and layer the tiles onto cardstock of your choice.
  5. As this is an embossing challenge I additionally embossed the outer light grey layer with the same embossing powder and a decorative border stamp.
