Hello Autumn …

I have made a set of journalling cards for Sarah Hurley’s Autumn edition ( #5) of the Lookbook.
I love the muted colours of the papers, and with the accent of bright orange and the grey I tried to add a modern look.

There is no questioning that I love the heat of the sun, but there is something about Autumn….that I really look forward to. The sunny days are fresh and there is something about the light that shows of the stunning colours that start emerging at this time of year. The birds start singing again, and wildlife in general becomes much more visible again (though I am certainly not impressed with spiders determined to enter the house).

I look forward to using these cards to document one of our many walks that we enjoy as a family at this time of year, looking for conkers, acorns, and seeds. I took these photos last weekend in the grounds of Blarney Castle, Cork. Its one of our favourite places to walk. Many people visit but only to go the castle, made famous by the Blarney Stone, but what they don’t realise is that there are extensive grounds of formal gardens, lake, and woodlands to explore. It means that they are usually very quiet and we can keep away from the crowds.
